Glór! The choir of St John’s Church, Chorlton-cum-Hardy

Tickets are now on sale for our annual Arts Festival Concert - Sunday 22nd May

Welcome to Glór!

We are the choir of St John’s Church, Chorlton. Established in 2008 by Aine Fee, as a community singing group, with an emphasis on learning and performing traditional Irish music, as a social activity for people who were for the most part, new to choral music. The group quickly developed into a fairly informal, mixed voice choir with an ever expanding range and repertoire.

Under our Musical Director Katharine Longworth, the choir is becoming an important feature of Parish and Community life in Chorlton. We perform traditional sacred music for church services and a wide range of secular music from pop classics to Broadway greats for concerts and community events. Each May, in support of the Chorlton Arts Festival, we invite local musicians to join us for our Arts Festival Concert, where we will perform major works with a full chorus and orchestra.

This year's concert will take place on Sunday May 22nd. The programme will include John Rutter's, Requiem and other short works by Haydn, Handel and Mozart.
