Glór! The choir of St John’s Church, Chorlton-cum-Hardy

A Few Good Men is a new choir, with the aims of performing in its own right, as a Male Voice Choir and providing support to the Tenor and Bass sections of Glór!

The choir will be open to new starters (Men or lower voiced Ladies) and will provide an introduction to choral music, to men who have not sung in a choir before or are returning to singing after a break.

We will be supported by a professional Director of Music, an accompanist and a few of our current Tenors & Basses to help things along. The members will be given music, tuition and rehearsal aids and CDs, to allow members to do a bit of homework if they wish. There is no requirement to be able to read music and there will certainly not be any auditions. The intention is to guide new singers along, in a relaxed and comfortable environment until they find their voices.

After a couple of sessions, members can decide if they would like to continue and join with the main choir, Glór!

The hope is that A Few Good Men will perform a couple of pieces at our next choir concert on Friday 18th October and sing with Glór! for some of the mixed voice numbers.

The first meeting of A Few Good Men will be on Monday 2nd September, at 7pm in St John's Church. There is no cost, or commitment required until you find your feet, so if you would like to book a place, please email Richard -
