Glór! The choir of St John’s Church, Chorlton-cum-Hardy

Musicians Required!

In 2012 Glór! decided that we wanted to put on a Chorlton Arts Festival Concert, in which we could perform major choral works as intended – with an orchestra.

With help from local orchestras and ensembles, the Chorlton Festival Orchestra was born. That year, we performed the Vivaldi Gloria and Faure Requiem, to a packed house and a great time was had by all!

In 2014, we performed Mozart’s Requiem with ensemble pieces from some of the soloists and members of the orchestra, with great success.

In 2015, our concert included Parry’s - I was glad & Jerusalem along with Haydn’s – Nelson Mass.

In 2016, our concert included - John Rutter's, Requiem, Handel - Zadok the Priest, Haydn - Insanae et vanae curae & Mozart - Laudate Dominum.

2017 saw a return for Mozart's Requiem and Vivaldi's Gloria.

Our 2018 concert will include Jenkin's The Armed Man (full orchestral version). Our orchestra normally numbers around 35, for this, we will need perhaps an additional 25 players, so please do get in touch if you can help!

We still require - Two 1st violins, a bass, two horns and 2 percussionists.

We are anticipating 2 rehearsals prior to the concert on the 20th May, and a full rehearsal with chorus, on the day itself.

If you think you might like to join in this year, please do get in touch with Richard the Choir Secretary
